Hi I am Dennis, one of the founding partners of Safe Eyes New Zealand.
The Internet has revolutionized our lives, and, despite its many benefits, it has major pitfalls. Internet Pornography makes up for a sixty per cent of all websites, 260 new porn sites go online daily and 35 per cent of internet downloads are pornographic in nature. Around 60% of men have viewed pornography with over 30% having some form of addiction to it. But it is not just men, over 30% of women say they regularly view pornographic websites and 17% are addicted to it.
Our children are now constantly at risk. Surveys show that 90% of children from 5 years of age up will come into contact with unsolicited pornography while surfing the net for homework assignments. But it doesn’t end there with 1 in 3 children contacted by a stranger online. This happens through social networks such as Bebo, My space and Facebook or Instant messaging programs like MSN, Yahoo and Skype and with it the threat of cyberbullying. Normal bullying is bad enough but now, with cyberbullying your children can get a double dose at home.
I recently read of a news report saying young teens were caught watching pornography on a smart-phone on the way to school and recent cases of young people attacked because they gave their address and phone numbers to strangers.
The situation is desperate. We need to protect both our children and ourselves. Of course the first reaction is to pull the plug on the internet. But this is not very practical because so much of our lives is now on the internet. Instead this is where Safe Eyes comes in.
The reason we started Safe Eyes in New Zealand was to give New Zealanders a chance at being safe on the internet. I am a long time user of Safe Eyes, I have used it for many years now and I can tell you it is the best internet filter available. I have tried many others and they have fallen way short of what Safe Eyes can do.
So do yourself and your family a service and purchase Safe Eyes today.
